Around twilight tonight
I walked home
From Weesuck Creek
Which ebbs and flows
Each day down
At the end of the street
With an almost empty
Glass of rosé in my hand
When I realized how
The essence of Enlightenment
Is much like a purple flower
That opens from within
An acknowledgement
That we too
As sentient creatures
May learn to be
More plant like
Opening ourselves
Through stillness
To pleasures of mind
By learning to live
In a manner
More fully tropic
To the subtleties
Of inner light
