A morning blue and
gray
Sea sky and land have
Merged into one and
The dock on the bay
is
Completely submerged
By the incoming tide
Earth heaves a muffled
sigh
Underneath the waters
Benignly rippling
Across the salt marsh
Advancing the sea
wrack
To mark the shoreline
A few inches higher
still
We’ve lost our bearings
Our footing may follow soon enough
That about covers it, Joe. I mean really covers it. Sad.
